Sushil Kumar is the winner of a reality tv show in 2011. He won 50 million dollars, but before all of his fortune and fame he led a very hard life. He was born in 1984 near Bihar, India. He grew up a slum boy surrounded in poverty. He moved from shack to shack making about 400 rupees a month (6 dollars and 25 cents American).
In the book Ram had the same tragedies seeing as the novel follows a true story. For starters he was orphaned twice. I believe that if anyone were placed in this situation your heart would turn, your self image would crack, your sane conscious would drive you crazy. All the Whys? popping into your mind would be unstoppable. This is misfortune at it’s finest. Everyone deserves to give love just as much as they’re receiving it. If no ones there for you to feel whole, what do you have? Loneliness? It’s an uncontrollable force. You’re left with the feeling of meaning nothing to anyone, does anyone know the steps for overcoming this deprivation. You don’t have any solutions. He found them and pushed to be granted an overwhelming outcome.
The second biggest tragedy to follow him around was when him and his best friend Salim were ‘rescued’ from a juvenile home by an undercover gang, dismembering children and creating limitations on their capability to make money. They fled before they became hopeless and incapable. Living without stability, without love and without full capability is automatically a hard recipe for anyone to follow. These are all necessities. The inner strength possessed by this individual is unmeasurable, he came up with the small solutions to get by time after time. He faced life and death circumstances too many times, but he did what he had to do to get by until the next day. His perseverance to life was an evident quality and is what made the story. If he would’ve gave up after the second horrific obstacle, there wouldn’t of been a storyline with a fairy tale ending.
This is a story of overcoming adversity at its finest. The most severe and unimaginable hard. This theme built who and helped him gain wealth, this is significant.
